| Der Tunnel durchbohrt die Wasserscheide zwischen dem Schwarzen Meer und der Adria; der Durchschlag erfolgte am 31. Mai 1904. Er steigt auf 3.561 Meter Länge mit 23 Promille und fällt dann auf zunächst 213 Meter mit 2 Promille, danach auf der verbleibenden Strecke von 2.565 Metern mit 10 Promille. Er wird von etwa 1.000 Metern Gebirge überlagert. Der Tunnel ist, ebenso wie die anderen großen Tunnel der neuen Alpenbahnen, zweigleisig hergestellt, während die Bahn selbst nur eingleisig angelegt ist. Er hat eine lichte Weite von 8,20 Meter und eine lichte Höhe von 6,40 Meter. Bei der Ausführung, die auf der Nordseite durch Einbruch kalter Quellen, die zeitweilig bis zu 1.100 Liter Wasser führten, behindert wurde, lieferte der Feistritzbach die nötige Betriebskraft von 630 PS für die erforderlichen Maschinen. Med izvedbo, ki je bila na severni strani ovirana zaradi vdora hladnih vrelcev, ki so vcasih nosili do 1100 litrov vode, je Feistritzbach zagotovil potrebno delovno moc 630 KM za zahtevane stroje. |

Die Linie Dutovlje - Sežana (1948) Die durch den Friedensvertrag festgelegte Grenze zwischen der Föderativen Volksrepublik Jugoslawien und dem Freien Territorium Triest schnitt die Bohinjer Eisenbahn von Süden her ab, da beide erst hinter der Grenze in den Gemeinden zusammen kamen. Die kürzeste Verbindung zwischen Postojna und Gorica führte somit über Jesenice. Die vorrangige Aufgabe nach der Übernahme der Küstenlinien bestand darin, eine Verbindung zwischen Sežana auf der Strecke von Ljubljana nach Triest und Dutovlje auf der Strecke von Gorica nach Opcine herzustellen. Am 13. November 1947 wurde in Sežana eine Sonderbaueinheit mit rund 800 Arbeitern für den Bau einer 9 km langen Strecke gegründet, deren letzte zwei Kilometer vor Dutovlje auf der alten Strecke verlaufen sollten. Die Arbeiten begannen im Mai 1948. In der Richtung von Triest nach Ljubljana gesehen zweigt die Strecke in Sežana rechts von der Hauptstrecke ab, biegt dann nach links ab und kreuzt in einem knapp 360 Meter langen Tunnel die Trasse der Strecke von Ljubljana nach Triest und steigt in einem Tal in Richtung Kreplje mit einer konstanter Steigung von 14 Promille. Der Tunnel in Sežana wurde am 23. August in 97 Tagen aufgefahren und die Strecke wurde am 21. Dezember 1948 für den Verkehr freigegeben. The Dutovlje - Sežana line (1948) The border between the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia and the Free Territory of Trieste, established by the peace treaty, cut off the Bohinj railway from the south, as both only came together in the communities behind the border. The shortest connection between Postojna and Gorica was via Jesenice. The primary task after taking over the coastal lines was to establish a connection between Sežana on the route from Ljubljana to Trieste and Dutovlje on the route from Gorica to Opcine. On November 13, 1947, a special construction unit with around 800 workers was founded in Sežana to build a 9 km long line, the last two kilometers of which before Dutovlje would run on the old line. The work began in May 1948. Seen in the direction from Trieste to Ljubljana, the line branches off to the right of the main line in Sežana, then turns left and crosses the route of the line from Ljubljana to Trieste in an almost 360 meter long tunnel and climbs in a valley towards Kreplje with a constant gradient of 14 per mille. The tunnel in Sežana was excavated in 97 days on August 23rd and the route was opened to traffic on December 21st, 1948. Proga Dutovlje - Sežana (1948) Z mirovno pogodbo vzpostavljena meja med Federativno ljudsko republiko Jugoslavijo in Svobodnim tržaŠkim ozemljem je prekinila bohinjsko železnico z juga, saj sta se obe le združili v skupnostih za mejo. NajkrajŠa povezava med Postojno in Gorico je bila prek Jesenic. Primarna naloga po prevzemu primorskih prog je bila vzpostavitev povezave med Sežano na relaciji Ljubljana – Trst in Dutovljami na relaciji Gorica – Opcine. 13. novembra 1947 je bila v Sežani ustanovljena posebna gradbena enota z okoli 800 delavci, ki je zgradila 9 km dolgo progo, od katere naj bi zadnja dva kilometra pred Dutovljami potekala po stari progi. Dela so se zacela maja 1948. Gledano v smeri od Trsta do Ljubljane, se proga odcepi desno od glavne proge v Sežani, nato zavije levo in v skoraj 360 metrih precka traso proge od Ljubljane do Trsta. predoru in se v dolini vzpenja proti Krepljam s stalnim naklonom 14 promilov. Sežanski predor je bil izkopan v 97 dneh 23. avgusta, trasa pa je bila odprta za promet 21. decembra 1948. |
